The regional study of the subnational entities analyzed is not a component of the IGECC calculation; it only represents a regional level analysis of energy management and climate change, based on the answers that State and Municipal governments responded anonymously, confidentially, and voluntarily provided to a questionnaire composed of 40 questions aligned to important international initiatives, such as The Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), the objectives of the Paris Agreement, and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN). The questionnaire was answered by State and Municipal public officials managing the ten IGECC thematic axes.
